We used cut natural limestone. Full shop drawings were done to architecturally align all joints and courses with the window and fascia modules. The quarry pre-cut all pieces to exact size and each palette delivered had stone pieces labele by location. Notice the color variation of the natural stone and the pixelated effect it has when the wall is done.
We used quarter-sawn white oak. We also floated the subfloor level to align the finished flooring surface with the top of window sills to give an appearance of glass being set into the floor. Later in the project we will bleach and whitewash this oak before applying the finish coat.
We used a commercial storefront system with aluminum frames by Coral Industries and low-e insulated glass by Solarban
We used the slabtek foundation system which is an elevated post-tensioned concrete slab on piers. See www.slabtek.com for more info on how this foundation works and has high stability over time.
Geothermal field complete and buried, now on to the foundation! We used multiple drilling rigs simultaneously to keep up the pace.
Due to limited space, we started by drilling the geothermal wells in the side yard prior to beginning the foundation.
